>>Natural Urticaria Treatment<<

Urticaria TreatmentChronic Idiopathic Urticaria Hives also known as urticaria is an allergic reaction which normally takes place when a sufferer comes into contact with a triggering allergen.

Many of these affecting allergens may be difficult if not impossible to pinpoint due to the many underlying factors which might cause hypersensitivity, thus triggering Urticaria.

Symptoms of the condition range in size from a few millimetres to several inches in diameter. Urticaria hives can be round, or they can form rings or large patches which grow and swell into each other, in many cases the swelling may grow and grow especially to the head area, this is a secondary more serious condition called Angioedema.

Hives can occur on most parts of the body and in many cases the whole body, however the symptoms of urticaria rarely affect the palms of the hand or the soles of the feet.

Hives are classified as acute or chronic depending on the length of the episode, most chronic cases are also considered as idiopathic as the reasons are more often than not hard to determine.

The treatment of Urticaria hives depends on the rigour of the symptoms with the most commonly used treatments being Non-sedating antihistamines, including Allegra, Claritin, Clarinex, and Zyrtec, however after much research it’s clear that drugs might not be the best course of action in dealing with urticaria.

    Dear Debbie-

I’ve been suffering from Chronic Hives since Sept 2010, for four months. I started taking zyrtec which controlled all symptoms but after 2-3 months of taking zyrtec my hives came back in full force! Zyrtec & Allegra don’t help at all. Benadryl helps relieve the itching but makes me very tired. Claritin doesn’t do too much. I just started taking Cyproheptadine. So far it hasn’t helped me either. This is controlling my life and making me feel depressed. I’ve been tested for 150 allergy tests, thyroid function test, etc and everything has come back normal or negative. Any advice you can give me is greatly appreciated!

      Hi Leigh
Sorry to hear that your chronic hives have come back, your situation is like many of us and quite common. I think the reason is due to the toxic build up caused by the drugs. Most medication used as an urticaria treatment really only hides or treats the symptoms, while in many cases making the overall condition worse. Allergy testing is also inconclusive for many of us as chronic urticaria is not really an allergy and is more of an autoimmune condition. I’m not qualified to offer medical advice so anything I say regarding a possible response to your chronic hives should be considered as information only. Many of us suffering with chronic hives find a short fasting period helps wonders, fasting may also help flush residual medication toxicity from your body. A short fast of water (bottled only-NO tap water) can often really help.. Please take professional advice before attempting a period of fasting.
      I hope that helps.
